seeing new zealand my way - auckland

auckland. quite a quiet city. not a place to do exciting trendy shopping but u will lov it if u r into vintage stuff. a lot of green. and i love the pink.

after 4 years!!!! finally met my dear yaya in auckland!!! she is still as beautiful and adorable as ever. we properly screamed when i reached her doorstep. oh my god i miss you! althought the next thing u told me wasnt realli the most favorite thing i wanna hear on a holiday. look at the mess below u will get it.

so yaya said "ai ling sorry lah we have to move out in two days. so u hav to giv us a hand at night ya" i almost fainted. i hate moving house!!!!! but then since it was free lodging so ok im not complaining more.

we took a ferry ride to reach a small island, the davenport. it was a small town. yaya n i were walking up mount victoria before a stranger stopped his car to offer a ride. so, PLEASE LISTEN, if ur mom tells u not to get into a stranger's car, u just dont do it. she is nagging for your very own good i can assure u. below was a story of how a nice helpful stranger who turned into a weird stalker.

in the car. weird things going to happen.

so we tot, the man looked pretty friendly. n there was a japanese gal in the car. he must b alrite. so we hopped onto the car. and guess wad when we finished looking around on mount victoria and about to walk down ourselves he offered to bring us to another mount and we were stupid enough to not refuse. and there he brought us into a tunnel and began to show us some pics on his camera, mumbling that those were his tenants and they were getting along well. it kinda freaked us out so we tried to walk away from him. but guess wad, after 20mins we somhow met again and this time he brought us into more tunnels, and in there it was total darkness we couldnt see a thing. n it was realli doggy that eventho it was so dark he could actualli tell us all the directions in the place, like where to turn when to turn. then after a very long while in the tunnel we tried to leave and he finally agreed to leave. the place was quite far away from the city so we had no choice but to hav a lift to the town. then in the town he offered to bring us to icecream house. omg he js wouldnt let us off. we said thank u and jumped off the car. thinking we must b safe already after walkin in the town for half an hour, guess wad, we met him again. and this time he offered to take us all the way home so as to save us a ride on the ferry. n he even asked for our phone number and address. we quickly ran off for our lives to the ferry. he was a stalker!!!!! so ppl, realli, don even get into a stranger's car!!!!!!!!!!

well, despite the horrifying encounter, the place was beautiful. we would have enjoyed it more if those weird things did not happen tho.

we went to the auckland musuem cos yaya said the maori performance is a must-not-miss. the musuem was exhibiting a lot about the maori history. omg they js reminded me of the kadazans in malaysia. the cultural dance, the singing, the costumes were so similar.

and look at their house!!!! exactly like those rumah panjang in sabah or sarawak! altho i havnt visited one myself lol.

i wonder why the maori like to stick out their tongues. they say it is meant to scare the enemy but seriously, whenever they did it, i just burst out laughing. nothing realli scary about a tongue sticking out rite?

thanks yaya. it was a good short stay and u had been so lovely. will be bac for more lol.
